POLICY NOTICE
Welcome to The Mindful Bodyworker’s healthy boundaries.
Review the policies & FAQ’s - fill out the intake form linked below.
Intake/Consent Form:
Please fill out the intake/consent form through the link above prior to your appointment. Choose accordingly for either massage therapy or lymphatic drainage. Having this completed before your session begins gives more time for massage and less for online forms. Don’t forget to read the policies!
Arrival:
Please only bring yourself to your appointment - no guests. I generally keep the front door locked to preserve everyone’s privacy. I may be finishing up with another client, or setting up for your session, so please only arrive no more than 5 minutes before your appointment. If the front door is shut, please wait, if it is open, please come on in. If you do arrive early, feel free to have a seat in the lobby. The bathroom is down the hall with signage, go through the main level door and turn left.
Parking:
There is free parking in the lot out front. I cannot guarantee you a spot, so leave at a reasonable time to find parking. Google maps is a great tool to use to figure our where you are going. :)
Hygiene:
Please do your best to avoid arriving with heavily scented perfumes; myself and others are sensitive to the scents, and they tend to linger. Please have showered and brushed your teeth recently before coming to your session. This ensures the safety for us both and prevents the spread of pathogens.
Appointment / Booking Option:
You will be charged for the correct appointment. Example: If you are a post-op client and book a regular lymphatic drainage session, or other session, the remaining balance will reflect the post-op pricing. There is a clear separation of booking options. Please book accordingly for your circumstance.
For in-home / mobile sessions, you must book under the mobile category and select in-home & mobile massage - this is a clear separation. If you are wanting a travel session and you put your address on the intake form for where you want the session to take place, and you did not book under the mobile category, this is still considered an in-studio session. Please pay attention to booking because I cannot travel to you when you do not book under the correct category and you will be required to pay for the session.
Appointment Confirmation:
The booking system, Square, automatically sends out an appointment confirmation as well as an appointment reminder to the email you input at the time of booking. In the case of potential glitches, you are responsible for keeping track of your appointments - please put the appointment in your calendar to ensure you don’t forget as you are responsible for the session fee.
Booking Reservation:
A pre-payment of 50% of the service(s) total is required to reserve an appointment - this is the fee you are paying online when booking. The remaining 50% will be paid in person at the time of your appointment.
Cancellation & Reschedule Policy:
I understand that plans may change, however, because your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you (or whomever you booked the time for), I require notice of at least 3 days or more for any reschedules or cancellations. This applies to all scheduled appointments - if you book the appointment online, or if I book the appointment for you on my end. The following fees apply to any changes or cancellations:
-72 hours (3 days) or more notice: You will be refunded the reservation fee minus a $5 processing fee (unless the processing fee is more).
-Less than 72 hours (3 days) notice: Your 50% reservation fee is forfeited, and no refund will occur.
-Less than 48 hours (2 days) notice: Your reservation fee is forfeited, and you will be charged 100% of each service total. The remaining balance will be charged to the card on file.
Events: Due to time commitment, events must be cancelled 7 days before the date of the event, otherwise you forfeit your deposit.
-A missed call with no message does not constitute a valid cancellation notice. To properly cancel or reschedule you must do one of the following: Leave a voicemail, send an email, or message via Square.
Cancellation / Reschedule Policy Last updated: May 15th, 2026
No-Shows:
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their session for any reason will be considered a no-show. They will be charged 100% of the service(s) fee for their “missed” appointment with the card on file. You will not receive a credit for a future appointment. Please respect my time.
Late Arrivals:
If you arrive late, (or have the therapist waiting for mobile massage) your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, your therapist will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the session actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration to the therapist and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time.
I reserve the right to apply these policies as I see fit so that emergency situations or illness can be considered.
I appreciate your understanding.
Payment:
Credit card is accepted and a pre-payment / reservation fee is required for booking. Venmo, Cash App, cash (please have exact amount), or credit card can be used for the remaining balance of your service. HSA/FSA are eligible, but if for some reason it doesn’t go through, you are responsible for the session balance. I do not accept insurance at this time, nor do I negotiate or deal with insurance companies or attorneys due to accidents, procedures, etc; this is a self-pay system.
Recording:
It is not permitted for you to record video or audio while I am working with you, including at The Mindful Bodyworker studio and for in-home / mobile sessions. This ensures privacy and security to protect both you (the client) and myself (the practitioner). If I record without your consent, it will be because of concerns of being harmed, or any argumentative behavior. If I record any content during your session, it will only be with prior consent from you and for that specific appointment. You can snap a photo or video of the space before or after the session if you wish to share on socials!
Mobile Massage Space:
Please have at least a 10’ x 10’ space available for your service. Please ensure the space is clean and workable for me to set up my table/chair to do your treatment. Please have a space I can step into to wash my hands while you disrobe and get on the table and cover yourself with the sheet and blanket. You may choose to leave on any or all of your clothing, it is completely up to your discretion, but you will be appropriately draped.
Table Weight Capacity:
My table holds a capacity of up to 500lbs. This includes a total weight of linens, supplies, the clients weight, and the weight I use when working. If you exceed this limit, please reach out and we can try to figure out a way for you to still receive bodywork in a safe way. In-home sessions are absolutely doable if you have your own table. You may be required to compensate for any damages that occur to the equipment if this information is withheld.
Legal Age:
You are ensuring you are of the age 18+. Minors (under age 18) may only receive massage with written consent from a parent or guardian. The parent/guardian must remain in the building for the duration of the massage session. The parent/guardian is responsible for determining the safety and appropriateness of massage therapy for the child. The parent/guardian is responsible for payment of service and must fill out the intake form for them.
Scope of Practice:
I am not a physician, chiropractor, or physical therapist. It is up to you to determine whether or not massage/bodywork is safe for you and your condition. Massage therapy and lymphatic drainage are not a replacement for other care. I believe that massage therapy and lymphatics are a great complement to other care. However, it is your responsibility to determine what works for you. I can only give you my opinion based on my education and experience. I cannot, nor is it legal for me to diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, or medications. Please understand, I do not negotiate or deal with insurance companies or attorneys for accidents, injuries, or any reason at all.
Sexual Misconduct:
Any sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or verbal, non-verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature will result in the immediate termination of the session and the client will be liable for full payment of the scheduled appointment. The client will also be prohibited from receiving any future services with The Mindful Bodyworker. Draping is required at all times and is required by law.
Right To Refuse:
I reserve the right to refuse my services to anyone for any reason that I deem necessary within law - such as violating these policies, nonpayment, harassment, health & safety concerns, etc.
